This year GIAMIND, continuing with the countdown"Beyond the End of Time," was planning to focus on an art and performance project to stir up and activate the Global Individually Aware Mind....that is... the Mind that is aware of the Individual self as part of a greater whole which is the Global or planetary identity: the GIAMIND.
In other words: "The whole which is greater than the sum of its parts." The planet being the "whole" and us being the "parts."
However.... as I've said, a funny thing happened on the way to the "Wishing Tree"...
As I put together a burlesque performance yoga routine from different styles of yoga, including chakra, kundalini, tantra, kriya, and vajra.... I began to realize that this was one kick ass form of yoga!
I had to back off and let my kundalini settle down a bit, allow the energy to guide me into structuring it in a fluid and progressive form so I would not shock my system into fried wreck!
Um... yea, it really is that powerful.
I would have never thought it, but yup, I zapped the hell out of myself one cold day performing "yoga- interuptus" !
I stopped halfway through the set, halfway through the chakras, and didn't even complet the meditation, and oooooohhhhh was that BAD!
Never fear, I have been divinely reminded how sacred this art and health form is and I will offer it to others ONLY after I have channaled all three levels and stages of progression.
So what do you folks do in the meantime?
Well, a collaborative eco-village as a synergistic multi-media art presentation called "Hope Village" is still happening on the playa.
Funding for the Wishing tree did not come through, so i'm letting that idea go for now.
I still plan on workshops demonstrating Vajramrita, or "THUNDER YOGA," which is a re-born powerful ancient combination of Tantra, Kriya, Kundalini, and Chakra Yoga.... AND if you are brave enough to apply yourself just once, it will hit you like a bolt of lightning!
And I am not kidding.... been there done that!
Let me be perfectly clear:
"This ain't your grandma's yoga!"
As for the countdown? Ah well, I guess not enough of us are synchronized yet to see the importance or significance of it.... All we can do is wait for the rest to "catch up."
For those new to the GIAMIND concept, in 2004 I grounded the project in a Countdown Beyond the End of TIme by collaborating with Annie Hallet and her sculpture, "The Spiral Eye of the Celestial Falcon". I wrote, produced and performed in the opera, "The Eye of Heaven." It was moderately but inspiringly performed.
Last year in 2005, we organized DREAM CAMP and I personally saw to it that Pepe Ozan made it back out to Burning Man by living and working with him closely for over three months. I helped him sculpt, mold, weld, and shape Steve Mobia's concept of the "Dreamer." A movable metal and concrete art piece where we staged improvisational performances each sunset in collaboration with the "DreamShare" workshops. It was quite exhillarating.

In using multi-media, I like to expand the understanding of the term itself. I allow each participant, either in the community or in Black Rock City, to offer their individual talents and gifts, and stir the collective synergy of the tribe into manifesting in it's own way.
By using group activities, and performance revolving around the annual theme and an aritst's work, we may all share in that "which is greater than the sum of all of us."
May we experience a moment of Bliss as we begin to realize that the separation between all of us is only illusion, (maya.)
Therefore, let us face the enemy's battle cry with
our own song of peace: "We are one, and there is no "other."
Then let the thunder of our words strike home and illuminate the truth while all tremble at what this sword of light reveals. For the only way to truly vanquish an enemy is to welcome him as your friend.
